Details Neapolitan Tailoring

The minimalist conception of Neapolitan tailoring eliminates all that is superfluous in the sign of sinuosity and lightness. Here are some details that allow you to recognize a piece of Neapolitan tailoring.

  • Dart long in the front and shorter in the back makes the jacket “slide” better along the body.
  • Sleeve sewn “shirt” i.e. with the fabric applied below the shoulder as is used for shirts, slightly shorter to better show the shirt cuff and with the characteristic curl defined as “mapina” on the upper part for greater movement.
  • “Three buttons ripped in two” i.e. single-breasted jacket with three buttons but which is ironed in two with the first of the three buttons always undone.< /li>
  • Upper “boat” pocket cut slightly concave at the top hem, with the outside significantly raised so that it resembles the profile of a boat.
  • Double stitching, visibly stitched twice both inside and out.
  • Perfectly finished but “flying” open lining that does not completely cover the inside of the jacket, but leaves the entire back uncovered, leaving the precision and cleanliness of the tailoring visible.< /li>
  • “Patch” pockets with a rounded shape. The patch pocket, on the other hand, is a pinata, due to its peculiar shape similar to that of a pot.
